Some 311 Venezuelan nationals who were repatriated from Mexico have arrived on a flight operated by state-owned airline Conviasa in Caracas, according to Interior Minister Diosdado Cabello. This brings the total number of migrants recently returned to 920.

Shortly before this announcement, the U.S. government accused Venezuelan officials on social media of falsely claiming that repatriation flights from Mexico were occurring that day. Cabello stated on local television that the flight resulted from a direct agreement with the Mexican government but did not provide further details.

Last weekend, the United States deported over 200 alleged members of the Venezuelan Tren de Aragua gang to El Salvador, where they are currently being held in a mega-prison despite criticism.
