A privacy group, Noyb, has filed a complaint against OpenAI for fabricating a story about Norwegian user Arve Hjalmar Holmen allegedly murdering his children, asserting that this contravenes GDPR regulations regarding the accuracy of personal data. Noyb contends that OpenAI should enable users to correct inaccurate information generated by ChatGPT, as GDPR mandates the accuracy of personal data. The complaint arose from misinformation provided by ChatGPT that included real data about Holmen, potentially harming his reputation. Noyb's press release emphasizes that AI-generated inaccuracies can lead to reputational damage and demands that OpenAI remove defamatory content and adhere to GDPR compliance.
