The Kremlin stated on Monday that it has not yet received any communication from the United States regarding a potential meeting between President Vladimir Putin and President Donald Trump, but affirmed its willingness to arrange such a meeting.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov informed reporters during a conference call, "So far, we have not received any signals from the Americans." He added, "Russia's readiness for a meeting remains, and as far as we have heard, the same readiness exists on the American side. It appears that some time is needed to make arrangements."
In response to Trump's comments on discussing the Ukraine conflict and energy prices, Putin expressed his interest in meeting with Trump. Trump, who assumed office last week, has emphasized his intention to meet Putin and resolve what he described as a "ridiculous" war.
