Venezuela's Attorney General, Tarek Saab, announced on Monday that his office has sought to have the detention measures of 110 individuals arrested during protests over a disputed July election reviewed. This brings the total number of released protesters in recent months to 2,006.
The attorney general's office has consistently released demonstrators detained during protests against the government. The government claims that President Nicolas Maduro secured a third term in office, despite opposition vote counts indicating a clear victory for their candidate.
