Turkish authorities have detained Ekrem Imamoglu, the Mayor of Istanbul and the main political rival of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, on allegations of corruption and links to terrorism, as reported by the media.
Prosecutors have also issued warrants for approximately 100 individuals, including Imamoglu's close aide Murat Ongun, in connection with the same investigation, as reported by the state-run Anadolu Agency.
