Trump Does Not Mention Ukraine Aid in Call with Putin, Informs Fox News

WASHINGTON, March 18 (Reuters) - The U.S. President stated that aid to Ukraine was not part of the discussion on Tuesday with the Russian President, despite the Kremlin's indication that Putin had urged an end to military assistance for Kyiv.

Trump made these remarks during an interview on Fox News' "The Ingraham Angle" show.

On Tuesday, Putin agreed to a temporary halt in military actions but stopped short of endorsing a full 30-day ceasefire, which Trump had hoped would pave the way for a lasting peace deal. Ukraine expressed support for the revised agreement.

Following the Trump-Putin call, the Kremlin stated that Putin stressed the necessity of terminating all military and intelligence support to Ukraine for any conflict resolution.

"We didn't discuss aid at all," Trump clarified. "We covered various topics, but aid was not on the table."

The United States provides Ukraine with crucial defensive and offensive capabilities. Washington is Ukraine's top supporter, having supplied or allocated over $70 billion in weapons, ammunitions, and other military aid since January 2022. Data from the Kiel Institute indicates that just over $15 billion was earmarked for heavy weaponry.

In February 2022, Russia initiated a full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
