WASHINGTON, Feb 4 (Reuters) - President Donald Trump stated on Tuesday that it would be acceptable to imprison American criminals in foreign countries, noting that certain nations were willing to accept criminals from the United States.
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio referred to El Salvador's President Nayib Bukele's offer to accommodate dangerous criminals from the United States in his country's prisons as "very generous" on Tuesday. Rubio mentioned that the Trump administration would need to evaluate the proposal.
