The Trump administration has reduced federal funding by approximately $10 million from two cybersecurity programs, one of which is for election security. Funding to the Center for Internet Security has been terminated by CISA, according to a CISA spokesperson. Minnesota Secretary of State Steve Simon mentioned that the National Association of Secretaries of State is requesting details from CISA regarding the funding cuts. Election security expert Larry Norden raised concerns that cutting these services is not only inefficient but also highly risky.
