The BBC interviewed LGBTQ couples in Thailand who participated in a mass wedding on the day the country legalized same-sex marriage. Over 100 couples exchanged vows at Siam Paragon, a prominent mall in downtown Bangkok, to mark this historic occasion.

Following the legalization, LGBTQ couples now enjoy equal rights to manage assets, inherit property, adopt children, and make medical decisions for their partners.

Various districts in Thailand are organizing celebratory events with gifts like cupcakes, bags, and even free air tickets, showcasing their support for this significant legal change.

While Thailand has been known as a safe space for LGBTQ individuals, standing out in Asia, activists emphasize the need for further legal reforms as many existing laws still lack gender neutrality.
