WARSAW, Jan 15 (Reuters) - Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk stated on Wednesday that Russia had planned "acts of terrorism" targeting Poland and other countries. Tusk made this declaration after holding discussions with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy in Warsaw.

According to security officials, the explosions that took place at logistics depots across Europe were considered a trial for a Russian scheme to detonate cargo flights bound for the United States. These incidents occurred at depots in Britain, Germany, and Poland in July. Russia has denied any involvement in these events, which Tusk refrained from specifically addressing.

During a press conference, Tusk stated, "The latest information reinforces concerns that Russia was contemplating acts of terrorism in the air not limited to Poland."

Tusk did not provide details on the specific nature of the planned acts or the information sources.

Despite requests for comment, the Russian embassy in Warsaw and the Russian foreign ministry remained silent regarding Tusk's statement.

Moscow has consistently denied any connection to the explosions at courier depots, as well as incidents of burglary, arson, and assaults on individuals that Western authorities attribute to operatives allegedly financed by Russia.
