OpenAI Considers 16 States for Data Center Locations in Trump's Stargate Initiative

OpenAI is exploring the idea of establishing data center campuses in 16 states that have expressed significant interest in the Stargate project associated with President Donald Trump. The partnership intends to allocate $100 billion initially, potentially reaching up to $500 billion, to construct extensive data centers and energy infrastructure for AI development. Trump hailed the Stargate project as a demonstration of faith in America's capabilities during his administration. Chris Lehane, OpenAI's vice president of global affairs, mentioned that numerous states reached out to OpenAI following Trump's project announcement.
