Younger employees are more likely to require time off due to stress, with one in three aged 18-24 taking time off last year, compared to one in ten for those aged 45 and above. The survey revealed that only 56% of 18 to 24-year-olds feel comfortable discussing stress with their supervisors, down from 75% the previous year. Brian Dow, Chief Executive of Mental Health UK, noted that mental health support for younger workers is deemed insufficient, with many organizations still offering outdated resources for modern challenges. The report highlights a significant increase in stress-related absences among younger generations, with 35% of Gen Z workers taking mental health sick days last year.
