The initial vessel for a 30 billion-kroner ($2.7 billion) project to sequester emissions beneath the North Sea has reached Norway. The country aims to transition emerging carbon-capture technology into a viable industry. The ship, named Northern Pioneer, is among four ships that will carry CO2 emissions from industrial plants to a storage site near Bergen. Subsequently, the captured gas will be injected into a saline aquifer over a mile deep beneath the seafloor.
