JBS to Invest $100 Million in Two Factories in Vietnam

Brazilian meatpacker JBS announced plans to invest $100 million in the construction of two factories in Vietnam, aiming to enhance its presence in Southeast Asia and solidify its position in the global market.

The new plants will produce beef, pork, and poultry, primarily using raw materials imported from Brazil, with the intention of supplying both Vietnam and other countries in the region.

This initiative was formalized through a memorandum of understanding with the Vietnamese government. The announcement coincided with a delegation trip to Vietnam, which marked the opening of the Vietnamese market to Brazilian meat, where JBS joined the presidential business delegation.

"The new plants in Vietnam will not only expand our production capacity but also invest in the local economy, create skilled jobs, and contribute to food security throughout Southeast Asia," stated Renato Costa, CEO of Friboi, JBS's beef division, which is a leader in Brazil's beef market.

JBS's plan indicates that the first facility will be located in Khu công nghiệp Nam Đình Vũ and will include a logistics center with storage capacity, as well as facilities for pre-processing, cutting, and packaging.

The agreement outlines that the second factory will be established in southern Vietnam two years after the first facility begins operations, featuring similar infrastructure, including a logistics center and processing plant.
