Italy's Data Protection Agency has barred the Chinese AI application DeepSeek from processing data of Italian users, following an investigation triggered by DeepSeek's inadequate responses on personal data usage. The imposed restriction is intended to safeguard Italian users' data due to the lack of clear communication from DeepSeek. Despite DeepSeek's assertion that they do not operate in Italy and are not subject to European legislation, the agency has enforced the ban.
