Argentinian Court Acquits Three in Death of Singer Liam Payne

An Argentine court has acquitted three of the five individuals accused in connection with the death of singer Liam Payne, as reported by local media on Thursday. Businessman Rogelio Nores, a friend of Payne who reportedly served as his manager, and two hotel employees were cleared of charges, according to Infobae.

However, the court maintained the pre-trial detention of a fellow hotel employee and a local restaurant waiter who have been in custody since the beginning of last month. They are accused of supplying cocaine to Payne during his time in Buenos Aires and could face up to 15 years in prison if found guilty.

Payne fell from a hotel balcony in October. The court has not responded to a request for comment from Reuters.
