Apple Reshuffles AI Leadership to Revamp Siri, Reports Bloomberg News

Apple is restructuring its executive team to recalibrate its AI initiatives after several months of delays, according to Bloomberg News sources.

Recent announcements indicated that AI enhancements for the voice assistant Siri were forthcoming, but no reasons were provided for the setbacks.

Mike Rockwell, the vice president in charge of the Vision Products Group, has been appointed to oversee Siri, as CEO Tim Cook has reportedly lost confidence in AI head John Giannandrea's ability to advance product development. Rockwell, who is recognized as the mastermind behind Apple's Vision Pro headset, will now report to software chief Craig Federighi, effectively removing Siri from Giannandrea's management.

Paul Meade, who has been leading hardware engineering for the Vision Pro under Rockwell, is set to succeed him in the Vision Products Group.

Apple has not yet commented on this report. Last year, the company introduced a suite of AI features branded as Apple Intelligence, offering new functions such as email rewriting and inbox summarization.
