WASHINGTON, Feb 28 (Reuters) - A senior U.S. official disclosed that the confrontation in the Oval Office on Friday between Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Zelenskiy and President Donald Trump would accelerate Washington's ongoing investigation into possible mismanagement, fraud, and misuse of U.S. aid to Ukraine.
The official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, revealed that billionaire Elon Musk and his Department of Government Efficiency had initiated an examination of potential issues with substantial U.S. economic and security support given to Ukraine, with plans to intensify these efforts.
"They're already finding problems," the official mentioned, refraining from providing further details.
