President Volodymyr Zelenskiy emphasized the importance of including Europe in Ukraine peace talks during his visit to Helsinki on Tuesday. His statement came as U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed a potential ceasefire in the three-year war.
Zelenskiy's call for European involvement in negotiations was shared on the social media platform Telegram, where he stated, "Europe must be at the negotiating table, and everything concerning European security must be decided together with Europe."
During his visit, Zelenskiy is scheduled to meet with Finnish President Alexander Stubb and arms manufacturers to explore investments in Ukrainian weapons production and initiatives aimed at resolving the conflict. Finland's finance, defense, and foreign ministers will also take part in the discussions at the presidential palace.
Accompanied by his wife Olena Zelenska, this marks Zelenskiy's second visit to Finland. Olena Zelenska will engage in visits to local schools alongside Suzanne Innes-Stubb, the wife of President Stubb.
