Kyiv, Feb 12 (Reuters) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy announced on Wednesday that he had a phone conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump, focusing on "opportunities to achieve peace" and the formulation of a document covering security and economic cooperation.
The call followed Trump's statement indicating a willingness to commence negotiations promptly with Moscow to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.

The duration of the call, according to the president's office, was approximately one hour.
Zelenskiy shared in his statement that they also deliberated U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent's visit to Kyiv on Wednesday, primarily focusing on a potential deal pertaining to Ukrainian critical minerals.
"We also addressed my meeting with @SecScottBessent and the development of a new document encompassing security, economic cooperation, and resource partnership," he remarked.
Moreover, Zelenskiy mentioned that Trump disclosed details of his discussion with Putin. "We agreed to stay in touch and plan future meetings," he added.
