A Russian delegation arrived at the U.S. Consul General's residence in Istanbul on Thursday for talks focusing on bilateral issues concerning embassy operations between the two countries, as reported by a witness for Reuters.
The U.S. delegation, led by Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Sonata Coulter, was matched by the Russian delegation, helmed by Aleksandr Darchiyev, who serves as the Director of the North Atlantic Department at the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and is Russia's ambassador-designate to the United States.
Both delegations, comprised of officials from the State Department, the Russian Foreign Ministry, and embassy representatives, are participating in the discussions.
