Wipro, an Indian Company, Set to Redefine Global Business Strategies

BENGALURU, March 14 (Reuters) - Indian IT giant Wipro announced on Friday the realignment of its four global business lines starting April 1 to better cater to client requirements.

This marks Wipro's first restructuring since CEO Srinivas Pallia assumed the role in April 2024, following a previous reorganization two years ago under former CEO Thierry Delaporte.

Under the new structure, Wipro consolidates all cloud, data, analytics, AI, and related operations within its tech services business line. Notably, the head of the cloud division has stepped down.

Amit Kumar, recently recruited from Accenture Consulting, will lead Wipro's consulting business line.

Pallia emphasized, "This adjustment of our business lines will enhance our ability to focus more effectively on client needs through consulting-driven and AI-enhanced solutions."

Post-restructuring, Capco, Wipro's major acquisition, will function independently under the consulting business line, with Capco's leadership reporting directly to Pallia. The Designit unit will fall under the tech services business line. Previously, both acquired companies were part of the consulting business.

In addition to its current engineering business line, Wipro introduced a new division named Business Process Services, to be headed by Jasjit Kang.
