Joining Whitesnake in 1984 on David Coverdale's invitation, Sykes contributed to the success of albums like "Slide It In" and the self-titled 1987 release.
Apart from his solo projects and Blue Murder, he led a version of Thin Lizzy after Lynott's passing in 1986.
