Volkswagen has revealed its plans to introduce a new entry-level electric vehicle in Europe by 2027, priced at €20,000. The Wolfsburg plant will serve as Volkswagen's hub for its upcoming all-electric compact class vehicles, as part of the company's strategy to stay competitive in the evolving EV market. Additionally, Volkswagen is set to launch the ID.2all hatchback in Europe by 2026, with a starting price of around €25,000. CEO Thomas Shafer highlighted that these new EV models will enhance Volkswagen's competitiveness against industry frontrunners such as BYD and Tesla, positioning them as both budget-friendly and high-quality options.
