Irish ministers are expressing concerns about potential double-digit tariffs on exports, particularly in the pharmaceutical sector, as noted by Premier Micheal Martin and Finance Minister Paschal Donohoe. Donohoe warned that these tariffs could hinder the creation of 50,000 to 80,000 jobs in Ireland over the next four to five years. Minister for Enterprise Peter Burke highlighted that tariffs on pharmaceutical products could have a detrimental effect, leading to higher medicine costs for U.S. citizens. In response to these concerns, the Irish Government is convening a trade forum to evaluate the potential impacts of these tariffs on the pharmaceutical sector in Ireland.
