US Overtakes China as Germany’s Top Trading Partner Last Year

In 2024, the United States overtook China as Germany's leading trading partner, marking the first time since 2015, as per Germany's Federal Statistical Office report. Trade between the U.S. and Germany rose by 0.1% to 252.8 billion euros, while trade with China fell by 3.1% to 246.3 billion euros, according to official data. Germany's trade surplus with the U.S. increased to 70 billion euros, driven by a 2.2% rise in exports to the U.S. reaching 161.4 billion euros.
