"The U.S. Government received approval to sell 69,370 bitcoins seized from the Silk Road, valued at approximately $6.5 billion, according to a report by DB News. The Justice Department cited price volatility as a reason for selling the assets, which has led to a decrease in the Silk Road bitcoin balance to zero. The U.S. Government still holds around 198,109 bitcoins, valued at $18.66 billion, despite this sale. President-Elect Donald Trump has expressed opposition to the idea of the government selling its bitcoin holdings."
