US Envoy Kellogg Arrives in Ukraine for Talks with Zelenskiy

Keith Kellogg, the U.S. President Donald Trump's envoy to Ukraine, traveled to Kyiv on Wednesday to meet with President Volodymyr Zelenskiy and engage in discussions as the conflict with Russia nears its three-year mark.

Kellogg's visit follows a meeting in Riyadh between the United States and Russia, where Ukraine was not present.

Speaking to journalists, Kellogg emphasized the importance of security guarantees and expressed his intention to "listen" during his mission in Ukraine.

Ukraine has consistently highlighted the necessity of security assurances from the U.S. to prevent potential Russian aggression following a potential peace agreement.

Kellogg mentioned that he would report back to Trump and the team to ensure a well-informed approach.

Zelenskiy postponed a scheduled visit to Saudi Arabia to avoid endorsing the U.S.-Russian meeting in Riyadh, as reported by sources to Reuters.

Trump commented on Ukraine not being part of the U.S.-Russian talks, suggesting that Kyiv could have negotiated with Russia earlier.
