US Ceases Offensive Cyber Operations Against Russia During Ukraine Peace Talks

The U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has reportedly ordered a cessation of offensive cyber operations against Russia in a bid to prompt President Vladimir Putin to engage in negotiations concerning the situation in Ukraine. This temporary halt is intended to assess Putin's stance on Ukraine as high-level talks get underway, as per a former U.S. official. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer disclosed that European allies will create a coalition to assist Ukraine against Russian aggression in light of the U.S. adjusting its strategy. However, Rep. Bennie G. Thompson criticized the administration's actions, cautioning that they could hamper efforts to address Russian cyber threats and jeopardize American infrastructure.
