US Blacklists China and Singapore-based Companies Linked to TSMC Chips in Huawei Processors

The US government has placed more than two dozen Chinese and Singaporean companies, including Sophgo, on a blacklist for their connections with Huawei and TSMC chips. Sophgo was associated with a TSMC chip discovered in Huawei's Ascendant 910B AI processor, leading to its inclusion in the US Commerce Department's Entity List. Entities on this list are prohibited from receiving exports without a license, typically denied, which substantially impacts their operations. Nvidia has condemned the actions of the Biden administration as misguided and cautioned that potential new regulations could jeopardize America's technological supremacy.
