In December 2024, the Army enlisted 10,726 recruits, averaging 346 soldiers daily, the highest number in 15 years. The service is halfway to its goal of recruiting 61,000 for fiscal year 2025, which represents a 6,000 increase from the previous year.
To meet the increased demand, the Army will create 10 new basic training units in Missouri and Oklahoma. This expansion will facilitate the training of an additional 9,600 soldiers annually. These changes, alongside recent policy adjustments, signify a noteworthy shift from the substantial 41,000 recruit deficit experienced previously.
