Mexico's President Claudia Sheinbaum has declared a one-month suspension of President Donald Trump's new tariffs following a meeting between the two leaders. Mexico will dispatch 10,000 National Guard members to its northern border to address drug trafficking, especially fentanyl. The U.S. will focus on curtailing the illegal smuggling of weapons into Mexico, with an estimated 200,000 to 500,000 firearms trafficked annually. Trump announced on Truth Social that negotiations will include Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick, and Mexican representatives.
