Chinese electric vehicle giant BYD has introduced advanced autonomous driving features on its models, available from $9,555, sparking a potential price war in a fiercely competitive market. BYD's God's Eye driver-assistance system offers various functionalities across different price segments. The entry-level C version, priced between 69,800 yuan and 219,800 yuan, includes features like automatic lane changes and autonomous emergency braking.
On the other hand, Tesla in China provides a Full Self-Driving (FSD) subscription with limited features focused mainly on automated lane changing. The brand also offers autopilot features like traffic-aware cruise control. Notably, Tesla's advanced autopilot suite includes auto lane change and auto parking for 32,000 yuan, with the upcoming FSD option expected to add capabilities like responding to traffic lights and city street navigation for 64,000 yuan.
Meanwhile, Xpeng introduced advanced autonomous driving in its MONA M03 Max EV, starting at 155,800 yuan, offering features such as lane-keeping control and adaptive cruise control. Xiaomi's SU7 EVs, priced from 215,900 yuan, come with smart driving systems that include auto parking and highway navigation, with the higher-tier version adding urban navigation capabilities.
Subscription-based access to advanced driving features is now increasingly available in the Chinese market, with prices varying across different brands and models.
