KYIV, Jan 22 (Reuters) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy announced on Wednesday that he had a meeting with German opposition leader Friedrich Merz, ahead of Germany's upcoming federal election.
Zelenskiy shared on social media, "We discussed strategies to progress towards a fair peace for Ukraine, in addition to addressing global challenges and assessing the front line situation," along with a video of the meeting.
Germany is set to conduct elections on Feb. 23 with Merz being the primary contender for the chancellorship.
