On Tuesday, Ukraine announced that it successfully targeted an oil refinery near Moscow and a facility in Russia's Oryol region connected to the Druzhba pipeline system delivering oil to Europe.
Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto reported that oil shipments through the pipeline were halted due to a Ukrainian drone strike on a metering station.
The Kyiv General Staff issued a statement stating, "Explosions were detected in the vicinity of the Steel Horse linear production dispatch station in the Oryol region of Russia, a crucial facility managing processes for the Druzhba oil pipeline." They emphasized that this station plays a vital role in supplying oil to the Ust-Luga seaport terminal in the Leningrad region.
Russian authorities confirmed that Ukraine carried out its most extensive drone attack on Moscow, resulting in casualties and a brief disruption at the capital's airports.
Hungary heavily relies on the Druzhba pipeline for its crude oil imports, as the pipeline conveys Russian crude oil via Belarus and Ukraine to Hungary and Slovakia.
