KYIV, Feb 7 (Reuters) - The chief of staff for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy stated on Friday that Kyiv is eagerly anticipating a visit by Keith Kellogg, the United States' special envoy for Ukraine and Russia, later this month.
Andriy Yermak mentioned discussing topics such as the current battlefield situation in Ukraine, the safety of Ukrainian civilians, and scheduled meetings at the Munich Security Conference. Yermak conveyed on the Telegram messaging app, "The Ukrainian side is looking forward to the visit of the U.S. Special Envoy for Ukraine and Russia in February to provide comprehensive information on Russian aggression against our country," without specifying the exact date of the visit.
Ukraine is striving to strengthen its ties with Washington, which aims to swiftly end the nearly three-year-old conflict following Russia's full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022.
Yermak informed The Associated Press on Thursday that Zelenskiy will be leading Ukraine's delegation to the Munich Security Conference, where U.S. Vice President JD Vance is also expected to participate.
