Trump's Hopes for Russian Ceasefire and Plans to Invite Zelenskiy to White House

President Donald Trump stated on Tuesday his desire for Russia to agree to a ceasefire plan crafted by American and Ukrainian officials. He mentioned the possibility of a U.S. meeting with Russia either later on Tuesday or Wednesday. Trump informed reporters of his intention to invite Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy back to the White House after their previous disagreements during a meeting in the Oval Office. Zelenskiy had departed from Washington without finalizing a critical minerals deal with the United States. Trump expressed optimism that a comprehensive ceasefire could be reached in the three-year war in the coming days and indicated his plan to discuss the matter with Russian President Vladimir Putin later in the week.
