Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and U.S President Donald Trump spoke on Saturday about the war in Ukraine and efforts to combat the illegal fentanyl trade, as stated by Trudeau's office.
The conversation took place in anticipation of a scheduled call on Monday involving leaders from the Group of Seven major industrialized nations, the secretary general of NATO, European Union chiefs, and the leaders of Romania and Poland to discuss the situation in Ukraine.
The White House reported that both Trump and Trudeau expressed a shared desire to see an end to the three-year-old conflict and they are looking forward to Monday’s call.
