Top EV Battery Manufacturer Files for Listing in Hong Kong

Contemporary Amperex Technology (CATL), the leading electric vehicle battery manufacturer, has applied for a listing on the Hong Kong stock exchange. This could potentially be the city's largest IPO in five years. The Bank of America, China International Capital Corporation, China Securities International, and JPMorgan Chase are collaborating as joint sponsors for CATL's listing. The IPO is anticipated to draw interest from international long-term institutional investors who face limitations in purchasing shares of mainland Chinese companies. Against the backdrop of escalating U.S.-China tensions, CATL is preparing to submit its application as soon as Tuesday or Wednesday.
