Social media company Meta is offering up to $5,000 to popular creators in the United States who join Facebook and Instagram. The payment is part of its "Breakthrough bonus program," and creators must post a specified number of original videos on both platforms during their first 90 days, meeting certain criteria for consideration.

The program is exclusively for new users to Facebook or Instagram, and acceptance is based on individual applications. In addition to the financial incentives, participants will receive benefits like a free subscription to Meta's blue check verification system.

Meta's recent initiatives include introducing an app named Edits and developing an affiliate link feature for shoppable content on Facebook, mirroring TikTok's successful Shop model. Instagram has also undergone changes, altering the traditional square profile format to a rectangular one, aligning more with TikTok's layout.

The modifications have drawn mixed reactions from creators, prompting Instagram's head Adam Mosseri to acknowledge the concerns.
