Taiwan Offers Assistance to Companies Moving to US Due to Trump Tariffs

Taiwan's Ministry of Economic Affairs has announced its support for companies interested in relocating to the United States in response to new tariffs. The support includes assistance in finding partners and information on investment opportunities in different U.S. states.

Taiwan has demonstrated its commitment to investing in the U.S. with a $65 billion investment from TSMC for setting up factories in Arizona, a project initiated in 2020 during the administration of President Trump.

Shares of Taiwanese tech companies with factories in Mexico experienced a significant decline, with Foxconn down by 8.1%, Quanta by 9.8%, and Inventec by 6.7%.

President of Taiwan, Lai Ching-te, has affirmed that the government will uphold favorable policies to encourage companies looking to invest in Taiwan rather than in China.
