T-Mobile customers with older plans will experience a $5 per-line increase starting on April 2, 2025, confirmed by Jon Freier, the president of T-Mobile's consumer group. Only customers who have received a notice will be impacted by the rate adjustment, according to a memo obtained by CNET. Freier attributed the increase to "rising costs over the past several years," aligning with similar actions taken by other carriers like Verizon and AT&T. Customers on current plans will remain unaffected, with T-Mobile offering, "should you decide to leave now, we will cover your final month's recurring service charge."
