A Sudanese Army airstrike yesterday struck a weekly market in Tora, North Darfur, resulting in the deaths of at least 270 civilians, predominantly women. The attack took place 80 kilometers north of El-Fasher, the last regional capital under army control, amid an escalating two-year civil war.
This incident exacerbates the world's largest humanitarian crisis, affecting 30 million Sudanese, including 16 million children in need of aid. The ongoing conflict has displaced 14 million people, forcing families to resort to eating grass as famine spreads.
