According to a study conducted by the University of California and the University of Southern California Information Sciences Institute, hate speech on platform X surged by 50% following Elon Musk's acquisition. The study revealed a notable spike in transphobic slurs by 260%, escalating from 115.2 posts per week to 418. Likewise, there were significant upticks in homophobic and racist posts. The researchers highlighted a lack of transparency in X's moderation techniques and indicated that external factors might have contributed to the upsurge in hate speech.
