In Honduras, power has been largely restored following an earlier blackout, according to Ministry of Energy spokesman Erick Tejada. The blackout caused a total power outage in the country's control area, reported the Central American electricity market supervisor, EOR.
Tejada mentioned, "90% of the country's energy demand has been restored," while investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the blackout.
Contrary to earlier reports by the Honduran national electric power company about a regional power failure in Latin America, EOR clarified that the blackout originated in Honduras.
