German Chancellor Olaf Scholz expressed on Friday that he anticipates the United States will not cease military aid to Ukraine following President-elect Donald Trump's inauguration on Jan. 20. Scholz, speaking at a press conference in Berlin, mentioned having had two conversations with Trump since the election, highlighting the "intensive" diplomatic dialogue in progress.

"We can therefore hope that good cooperation between Europe and the USA will persist successfully in the future, including regarding support for Ukraine," stated Scholz. "So I don't expect the U.S. to discontinue its support for Ukraine in its defense."
