On January 31, Germany's SAP highlighted a growing global demand for sustainability software despite the United States' shifting climate policies. CFO Dominik Asam, in an interview with Reuters, emphasized the continued importance of sustainability in investor discussions. Asam stressed the necessity for companies to have reliable data and analysis tools for decision-making in this area.
At the World Economic Forum in Davos, Asam engaged with concerned investors who, despite recent U.S. policy changes, remain optimistic about sustainability. He sees potential for SAP's Green Ledger software, designed to facilitate verifiable sustainability reporting akin to financial statements, aligning with the European Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive requirements by 2028.
Although currently used primarily by SAP and Covestro, Asam anticipates broader adoption, stating, "A lot will happen in the second half of this year."
