According to a report from a South Korean newspaper on Tuesday, Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics are exploring the possibility of shifting some of their home appliance manufacturing from Mexico to the United States. This consideration arises following U.S. President Donald Trump's announcement of imposing 25% tariffs on imports from Canada and Mexico starting February 1.

Reportedly, Samsung Electronics is contemplating transferring the production of dryers from its Mexican plant to its facility in South Carolina, as per Korea Economic Daily, citing industry sources who chose to remain anonymous.

Similarly, LG Electronics is weighing the option of relocating refrigerator manufacturing from Mexico to its Tennessee plant, dedicated to washing machines and dryers.

A Samsung representative stated their intention to closely monitor the situation and adapt accordingly, given their production facilities spread across various global regions. Meanwhile, LG Electronics expressed its strategy of adjusting production systems and sites in response to evolving market dynamics.
