Sam Altman's cryptocurrency project, World Network, is in discussions with Visa regarding a stablecoin payments wallet, according to a report by CoinDesk citing an anonymous source.
This partnership would enable Visa card functionality within World Network wallets, facilitating stablecoin payments to merchants in Visa's extensive network. This move highlights ongoing efforts among industry players to incorporate cryptocurrency into the payments ecosystem as digital assets gain mainstream traction.
Neither Visa nor Tools for Humanity, the entity behind World Network, has responded to requests for comment.
World Network, co-founded by OpenAI's Altman, primarily offers World ID, which the company defines as a digital passport designed to verify the holder as a real person, distinguishing them from AI chatbots online.
