Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov stated on Saturday that Moscow is still awaiting Washington's approval for its new ambassador to the United States, as reported by the RIA state news agency.
Anatoly Antonov, the previous Russian ambassador to the U.S., departed from his position in October. During the initial Russia-U.S. discussions to end the Ukraine conflict on Tuesday, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio mentioned that high-level teams will collaborate to reestablish diplomatic missions in Washington and Moscow to facilitate future talks.
